Ed Freeman Building With Gold

A wonderful story about Ed Freeman's faith told by a Viet Nam Vet.
You're an 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded, and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley , 11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam . Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8 - 1, and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in. You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns, and you know you're not getting out. Your family is 1/2 way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.
Then, over the machine gun noise, you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter, and you look up to see an un-armed Huey, but it doesn't seem real, because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.
Ed Freeman is coming for you. He's not Medi-Vac, so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire, after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.
He's coming anyway.
And he drops it in, and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board.
Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire, to the Doctors and Nurses.
And, he kept coming back.... 13 more times..... And took about 30 of you and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out.
Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman, died last Wednesday at the age of 80, in Boise, ID ......May God rest his soul.....
I bet you didn't hear about this hero's
passing, but we sure were told a whole
bunch about some Hip-Hop Coward
beating the crap out of his "girlfriend.

faith without works is dead....

What good is it, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?
Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him/her, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?" In the same way, faith by itself, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds."
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that––and shudder.
You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
–James 2:14-24
can you sleep while the wind blows?
sleep when the wind blows

Years ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast.
He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were
reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic. They dreaded the
awful storms that raged across the Atlantic, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops.
As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received
A steady stream of refusals.
Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached
the farmer. "Are you a good farm hand?" the farmer asked him.
"Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man.
Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help,
Hired him. The little man worked well around the farm, busy from
dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work.
Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore.
Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed
next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the
little man and yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming!
Tie things down before they blow away!"
The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No
sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows."
Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on
the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm.
To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had
been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens
were in the coops, and the doors were barred.
The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down.
Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his
hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while
the wind blew.
When you're prepared, spiritually, mentally, and physically,
you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the
wind blows through your life?
The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he
had secured the farm against the storm.
We secure ourselves against the storms of life by
grounding ourselves in the Word of God.
We don't need to understand, we just need to hold
His hand to have peace in the middle of storms.
A friend of mine sent this to me today,
and I enjoyed it so much, that I wanted to send it to you.
I hope you enjoy your day and you sleep well.
God Bless You and Yours
The Text of this beautiful story was forwarded to me by a friend without an author noted. We have just found that this is an Uncle Arthur story. I think the title was "I can sleep on windy nights" from -- Uncle Arthur's Online.

there's some thing you've got to keep harping on.....

Harping! What does that have to do with faith?
What is harping? Harping is persistently and tediously on a particular topic.
I had someone tell me once that I am always "harping on faith." I thought what a great thing to harp on. I wondered, "is faith worth harping on?" It is sweet music to my ears.
So why is faith worth harping on?
And, what is it?
Faith is trust or confidence in someone or something; and a strongly held belief or theory as confidence in God based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.
The Hebrew writer says "What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. God gave His approval to people in days of old because of their faith." Hebrews 11:1-2.
By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. Hebrews 11:3
This is great and intense stuff. Take a look around you right now, what you are seeing was formed at God's command and He formed it by nothing you see. Now this is intense.
So, what are we going to do about the "faith thing?" We've either got to believe in God who does things unnaturally or we don't believe in Him.
"But we are not like those who turn their backs on God and seal their fate. We have faith that assures our salvation."
– Hebrews 10:39
"So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith." Ephesians 3:17
Can Christ dwell in us if we don't have faith? Just wondering!
"There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called..... one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." Ephesians 4: 4-6
Have you ever been ask, " of what faith are you?" This question would not be asked if people only realized the one and only true faith. It is so simply believing in the Good News. And, what is the Good News?
"But you my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ told you, that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to enjoy themselves in every evil way imaginable. Now they are here, and they are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They live by natural instinct because they do not have God's Spirit living in them."
–Jude 17-19
"But you, beloved, "building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit." Jude 20
What is holy faith?
Holy is being dedicated or consecrated to God. In other words build on the foundation with a sacred faith in dedication and consecration to God.
There will be some whose faith is wavering. What do we do then? Those with holy faith will show mercy to those "wavering" faith folks. You will snatch some from the flames of judgment. Still there are others who you will need to show mercy, and the ones with holy faith be careful that you aren't contaminated by their sins."
–Jude 20-23
keep on 'keeping on' 'harping' on faith...... sweet music for the soul......
